NYS Permit Test

A red letter 'P' is centered within a white circle, outlined in blue.

The NYS DMV and Pulaski Academy & Central School are pleased to offer the Online Knowledge Test Application (OKTA) here at PACS, reducing the time spent by students and their parents at the DMV office.

The test is presented in an easy-to-use computer format and is offered to students age 15 (who will be 16 within a month) and older. The free test will be administered online by Mrs. LaDue in the College and Career Office. The test typically takes 20-35 minutes to complete. Questions will also be available in audio format if needed. DMV learners’ permit manuals are available online. Tests can be retaken as often as needed to receive a passing grade.

It’s simple:

  1. Schedule a time online here or by calling the school at (315) 298-5103 ext. 7218.
  2. Complete this permission slip and bring it with you to your test appointment.
  3. Applicants will report to the College & Career office during their designated time with proof of identification (original birth certificate).
  4. Here, they will take the exam which is graded immediately, and students will receive a pass/fail receipt.
  5. They will then take their passing receipt to any DMV (once the student turns 16) and receive a full DMV learner’s permit.

On completion of the test, further NYS paperwork will be provided to take when going to the DMV. If you have any further questions, call Mrs. LaDue during the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at (315) 298-5103 ext. 7218 or email at aladue@pulaskicsd.org.
