Lura M. Sharp Elementary School recently hosted its third annual Poetry Slam event, transforming its auditorium into a stage where young voices resonated with creativity and confidence. The event saw students from various classes presenting their favorite poems to an audience filled with parents, peers, and staff.
 

The Poetry Slam aims to cultivate public speaking skills and bolster self-assurance among students. Participants showcased a diverse range of poetic expressions, from classic verses to original compositions, reflecting their unique perspectives and imaginations.

Educators at Lura Sharp Elementary emphasized the importance of such events in fostering a love for literature and enhancing communication abilities. "Providing students with opportunities to express themselves through poetry not only enriches their academic experience but also builds essential life skills," said Michelle Majerus, a coordinator for the event.
 

The school's commitment to creating a positive and supportive learning environment was evident throughout the event. The enthusiastic participation and the encouraging atmosphere underscored the success of the Poetry Slam in achieving its educational objectives.
