Third Graders Create Dinosaur Fossils

Third grade students at Pulaski’s Lura Sharp Elementary recently discovered some dinosaur fossils. The best part is that they didn’t have to go far away, or dig in the dirt, they found them in the comfort of their own school building.
The entire third grade class gathered in the cafeteria, where they were instructed by their teachers on how to create their own dinosaur fossils. Using only salt, water, and flour, students were able to create a mold that they then pressed toy dinosaurs into, before heating them into a final fossil. Students were full of smiles and laughter once they saw the finished product.
“Activities like these allow our students to explore their creativity and really let their imaginations run wild,” said Chelsea Moran, a teacher at Lura Sharp Elementary. “They really enjoyed the event, and I look forward to doing more hands-on activities like this in the future.”
