Pulaski Students Participate in Countywide Band Festival

Band students from Pulaski Middle-Senior High School recently traveled to Phoenix, New York, to participate in the Oswego County Music Educators Association (OCMEA) All-County Band Festival, held Jan. 16–17.
The festival brought together top student musicians from across Oswego County for two days of intensive rehearsals and performances. Pulaski students earned their spots in the prestigious ensemble after auditioning at Central Square in early November.
During the festival, students performed challenging, high-level selections by renowned composers including Randall Standridge, Julie Giroux and John Philip Sousa. The ensemble was led by guest conductors Dr. Jason Giachetti and Ms. Lynn Cromeyn of Nassau County, Long Island, providing students with the opportunity to study under experienced music educators and conductors.
In addition to rehearsals and the culminating performance, students collaborated and interacted with fellow musicians and music teachers from schools throughout Oswego County, gaining valuable musical and educational experiences.
Pulaski Middle-Senior High School students who participated in the All-County Band Festival included Trenton Baker, bass clarinet; Tanner Vautrin, trombone; Malachy Ruddy, percussion; Virginia Lewis, flute; and Cheyanne Burnett, flute.
School officials praised the students for their dedication, preparation and commitment to musical excellence, noting that participation in the All-County Band Festival is a significant achievement for young musicians.
