Pulaski Fifth Graders Build Teamwork and Leadership Skills at Camp Hollis

Fifth-grade students from Lura Sharp Elementary School in Pulaski recently participated in a morning of outdoor team-building games and problem-solving activities at Camp Hollis in Oswego.
The field trip provided students with an opportunity to practice essential communication, planning and strategic thinking skills through interactive outdoor challenges. Held at the lakeside outdoor education and recreation center, the activities support the school’s ongoing initiative to incorporate social-emotional learning alongside standard academic curriculum.
During the trip, students worked in small groups to navigate hands-on obstacles, relying on mutual encouragement and cooperative strategies. Faculty members noted that the outdoor setting offered a valuable space for peers to bond and put theoretical teamwork principles into practical application.
The visit to Camp Hollis forms part of Lura Sharp Elementary School's broader commitment to helping students foster cooperation, respect and perseverance in and out of the classroom.
