PACS Student Named to 2020 Bassmaster All-State High School Fishing Team
Catching fish is nothing new to Pulaski Academy and Central School senior Garrett Lawton.
“My love of fishing really started when I was about 3 years old,” said Lawton. “My dad would bring me out with him, and I would have my SpongeBob pole with a bobber and worm, just catching small bass and sunfish.”
Lawton was recently named to the 2020 Bassmaster All-State High School Fishing Team, which isn’t a new honor to the award-winning angler.
“This is my second year in a row being named to the team, said” Lawton. “I am extremely humbled to be recognized on a national level. It makes me feel like all my hard work and dedication paid off.”
Lawton is joined by 48 other outstanding high school anglers from across the country. Students were selected for the honor based on their success in bass tournament competition, academic achievement and leadership in conservation and community service.
“We are very proud of Garrett,” said Renee Lawton, Garrett’s mother. “We couldn’t have asked for a better son, and we know he will go far in whatever he decides to do.”
