PACS Varsity Girls Soccer Team joins Opponents in Honoring Memory of Carthage’s Tyler Christman
The Pulaski Academy & Central School District Blue Devils varsity girls soccer team Thursday joined its opponents, Cato-Meridian, in remembering Carthage Central School District student Tyler Christman who passed away after suffering a head injury during a football game in September.
The teams wore red, Carthage’s school color, and sported custom stickers during the game while an area was set up for spectators to donate to the scholarship fund established for the late Carthage Comets junior varsity football player. PACS Middle-High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director James Karcz said the idea to organize the fundraiser and tribute to Tyler came from PACS student athletes Laura Winfield and Sam Wilmot who represent what being a PACS athlete is all about.
“Our Athletics Department is a family and we invest in each other and all our student athletes,” Karcz said. “We dedicated our day to Tyler Christman and presented a tribute to his memory while embracing another athletic family at Carthage.”
