PACS Athletics Family Spotlight - January 2022

 

 

Grade/Sport: Junior, Varsity Basketball

 

Your Sports Hero and why: I don't have a particular sports hero.

 

Favorite Food: Pineapple

 

Favorite Local Eatery: The Riverhouse

 

Favorite Sports Moment: Varsity Soccer and win over Fabius-Pompey.

 

How does Athletics make you a better student or person? Sports, especially at this stage, are morale builders. They teach things like work ethic and commitment. Athletics provides skills important to school and life after school.

 

Best part of being an Athlete at Pulaski:  Being an athlete at Pulaski gives everyone the opportunity to not only be on a team, but also the ability to be in extracurriculars outside of sports. 


 

 

Grade/Sport: Sophomore, Varsity Tennis

 

Your Sports Hero and why: N/A 

 

Favorite Food: Fried chicken

 

Favorite Local EateryTexas Roadhouse or Cracker Barrel

 

Favorite Sports Moment: Why my opponent and I went to a tie and I won. We each won a set and went into a tiebreaker. I was very motivated to win and I just put the ball away and won my points.

 

How does Athletics make you a better student or person? Athletics helps me to be motivated to do my best and be a good person.

 

Best part of being an Athlete at Pulaski: The people and coaches at Pulaski help and encourage me to achieve my goals and do better.

 


 

 

Grade/Sport: Freshman, Varsity Cross Country

 

Your Sports Hero and why: I never really had one, as I was not a fan of sports until I started running cross country.

 

Favorite Food: I love food, so I find it difficult to have a solid answer. I really enjoy rice, pork, beef, fish, crab, clams, broccoli, peaches, mango, dragon fruit, potatoes and sweet potatoes as well.

 

Favorite Local Eatery: Aside from fast food, I have yet to try most except for LD's on the River.

 

Favorite Sports Moment: Going to sectionals and getting to see improvement over the season.

 

How does Athletics make you a better student or person? I get to interact with others in a different environment. The interaction and exercise benefits my mood and also gives me something to do that provides more opportunities to interact with others outside of school. 

 

Best part of being an Athlete at Pulaski: Having support and an enthusiastic team.

Your Sports Hero and why: Alex Mogran for being a pioneer in women's sports.

 

Favorite Food: Chicken wings

 

Favorite Local Eatery: LD's on the River

 

Favorite Sports Moment: Being able to play with my sister for her senior year.

 

How does Athletics make you a better student or person? Athletics teaches me teamwork and helps me get out of my comfort zone and talk to people I might not usually talk to. 

 

Best part of being an Athlete at Pulaski: Being close to my teammates on and off the field.

 


 




Grade/Sport: Senior, Varsity Football and Basketball

 

Your Sports Hero and why: Derrick Rose. He was injured at the peak of his career and managed to have a comeback and be a good NBA player.

 

Favorite Food: Bacon cheeseburger

 

Favorite Local Eatery: Dragon Garden

 

Favorite Sports Moment: It would have to be the Football Championship game at Mexico. The support our community showed at that game and the love shown to our seniors after the game.

 

How does Athletics make you a better student or person? Knowing you have to keep up your grades to be eligible to play. Also, being a role model for younger athletes.

 

Best part of being an Athlete at Pulaski: The best part is the love our community gives our teams. They really support the athletics and that gives us extra motivation which is definitely a great thing.

  


 

 

Grade/Sport: Sophomore, Varsity Cross Country

 

Your Sports Hero and why: My dad is my hero because he encourages me to try my hardest and pushes me to achieve my goals.

 

Favorite Food: Baked ziti

 

Favorite Local Eatery: Stefano's

 

Favorite Sports Moment: When we were at practice and finished early and played hide and seek, and tag.

 

How does Athletics make you a better student or person?  It shows you that you need to put in the effort because, if you don't, it will not be handed to you.

 

Best part of being an Athlete at Pulaski: The team bonding that happens and the coaches' encouragement toward us.


 

 

Grade/Sport: Sophomore, Junior Varsity Basketball 

 

Your Sports Hero and why: My brother because he always does his best and is always helping me to do my best by practicing with me during the summer.

 

Favorite Food: Spaghetti

 

Favorite Local Eatery: McDonald's

 

Favorite Sports Moment: Being able to shoot the basketball and watch it go through the hoop.

 

How does Athletics make you a better student or person? It teaches me to be a better leader and how to work with others.

 

Best part of being an Athlete at Pulaski: Being part of a team that feels like family.

 


 

 

Grade/Sport: Senior, Varsity Football

 

Your Sports Hero and why: Barry Sanders because he showed me that anything is possible as long as I put my mind to it.

 

Favorite Food: Chicken wings

 

Favorite Local Eatery: Fairways & Dreams 

 

Favorite Sports Moment: When we made it to the championship game this year.

 

How does Athletics make you a better student or person? It has taught me discipline, teamwork is the key to success, time management, sacrifice, striving for goals, and most importantly what it means to fail. 

 

Best part of being an Athlete at Pulaski: The team trated me like family with out them hardly knowing me.

Your Sports Hero and why: Dan Hefti because he influenced me to join the Cross Country team.

 

Favorite Food: Chicken and rice

 

Favorite Local Eatery: Artie's Hometown Diner

 

Favorite Sports Moment: Our team becoming 4x league champs.

 

How does Athletics make you a better student or person? It helps me be a better student because, if I do bad in school, I can't play sports.

 

Best part of being an Athlete at Pulaski: We all know each other so we are like family.
