Pulaski Senior Teaches Fifth Graders to Play Guitar
Pulaski High School senior Ezra Peter recently brought music and collaboration to life. Peter spent several weeks teaching a group of fifth-grade students at Pulaski’s Lura Sharp Elementary how to play the guitar.
The project, designed to both inspire and teach, gave the students hands-on experience with music. Over the course of the lessons, Peter worked closely with the fifth graders, teaching them the basics of guitar and helping them learn the chords and strumming patterns for the popular song.
After weeks of lessons and hard work, the students performed “Sweet Caroline” in front of their entire school. With Peter leading them, the students played in front of a supportive and captivated audience of classmates, teachers, and staff.
Peter’s project not only provided valuable musical instruction but also fostered teamwork and confidence among the young musicians.
“This has been such a fun experience,” Peter said. “I’m proud of these students for their hard work, and they’re definitely better guitar players than I was when I was in fifth grade.”
